Meridian Partners assists RailAmerica’s SAP upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 |
Miami Beach, FL – Meridian Partners, an SAP Services Partner specializing in SAP implementations, upgrades, maintenance/support, business information services and strategic staffing, and RailAmerica announced their successful upgrade of RailAmerica’s SAP system from 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
RailAmerica is a leading owner and operator of North American regional and short-line railroads with operations in 26 states and three Canadian provinces. RailAmerica has over 200 SAP users and uses SAP for financial management, purchasing and human resource management. The upgrade was completed in six months.
In addition to the SAP upgrade, RailAmerica worked with SAP to migrate its Operating System from a Unix to a Windows environment and moved their Database Management System from Oracle to a Microsoft Sequel Server. These simultaneous projects required careful coordination and support from the IT and database teams. In its approach, Meridian Partners leveraged the vast experience it gleaned from performing upgrades for other clients.
